December Meeting - Party Time!

We had a merry time at our Christmas party!

Annette entertained us with Christmas carols and some of us sang along.

So many Christmas stockings in our exchange, each filled with goodies, some sewing related and some just for fun.

HO HO blocks - enough for a good start on a lap size quilt.

Christmas show & tell, Secret Sister reveal, games, socializing,
and an enormous spread for dinner and dessert.
Another great party!

November Meeting and Sage Cancer Center Donations

Members worked throughout the year to make quilts for Sage Cancer Center.

Some of the members who made quilts for Sage
posing with some of the quilts they made.

 Katie from Sage Cancer Center
was present to accept our donations.
A total of 28 quilts were donated.

The raffle block next month is, appropriately, HO HO.
Rita won this month's batiks.

 Show and tell!

Ruth Ann tried a new method for HSTs.

One sewing machine mat with pockets for Ruth Ann....

 ....and one for Michaela.

Kim's One Block Wonder for a bright and cheery friend.

Seems like it'll be a perfect match!

A not too Christmas-y quilt for a dude that doesn't want a Christmas quilt.
It's more about the trucks and trees, right?!?

What a fun quilt Donna made for a special BMX racing enthusiast!

Adorable Bats!  (You don't hear that very often.)

Quilting on a Dream Big panel.

Sue calls it practice.  We call it art.  Beautiful quilting!

Kathleen's 3D Bow Tie quilt with fabrics from many members.
(Thank you for all your beautiful fabrics!)

Christine's table topper.

Christine's table runner with lots of movement!

 Annette's 3D Bow Tie quilt.

A Butterfly Pillow Sham to go with Rita's granddaughter's Butterfly Quilt.

A fidget quilt with I Spy squares - great combo!

One of Maria's granddaughters is hiding behind
the Paris quilt Maria made for Jackie.

One of Maria's selvedge projects.

Maria made a Teapot Tissue holder - so clever and cute!

 Margie's On Ringo Lake.
The blue areas looked like they shimmered when you saw it in person.

A member's garage sale was a big hit!
Too much buying and selling to have time for photos :)

GO! Cutter Workshop

It was a day full of cutting and planning for future quilts.
It was a good day!

There were several cutters and members generously shared their dies.

Cari cut at least a million little black squares for our challenge quilt.

Tumbler, Winding Ways, and various applique dies were very popular.
We should see some spectacular quilts at Show & Tell soon!

 As usual we all had a good time . . . .
chatting, laughing, sharing project ideas,
asking for and getting advice . . . .
and of course they was food - lunch, snacks, sweets.
It was a good day!

October Meeting - Surprise Birthday Party!

Lorraine, one of our founding members, turned 100!
So of course we wanted to celebrate!

Lorraine was surprised.
Mission accomplished.
We can be a sneaky bunch :)

There were balloons and a banner.
We had cake and other goodies.

Members shared memories about Lorraine.

There were lots of cards, some gifts.

We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating with Lorraine!
Cari and Meg made Lorraine a quilt in her favorite color.
She loved it!

Happy Birthday, sweet Lorraine!

Wool Work Workshop

A mix of experienced wool workers and total newbies
attended the wool work workshop by Kysa Meek.

Kysa brought, and generously shared, lots of wool and thread and needles.

We worked diligently!

And produced beautiful little needle holders!

And our teacher found a few quiet moments to work on her own project.

Thanks, Kysa, for sharing your knowledge, experience and materials.
It was a great workshop!
