Meeting Info

Who, What, When, Where, . . . . . . . and the Why is obvious!

Who:  Members, guests, looky-lous, will-this-guild-fit-me future members, anyone interested in quilting!

What:  Our meetings are preceded with a little social time.  What's going on in our lives, what we're working on, our recent triumphs & failures, vacations, new quilt shop discoveries, etc.   Then our meeting. This is the part where we talk about what committees are doing, have Show & Tell, Secret Sisters, reports on Comfort Quilts, Challenge Project updates, UFO progress, etc.  After a short refreshment break, the meeting is followed by a program.  Sometimes the program will be an expert in some area of quilting, there may be a trunk show or a presentation, and sometimes the expert will bring wares to sell.  Sometimes our program is by one of our members who has a particular expertise or talent.  Occasionally we'll play a game that has some aspect of quilting at the center of it.  There is usually a lot of fun and hilarity involved, and some knowledge is usually gained by accident!  Once a year or so we have a "garage sale" where you can bring your not-crazy-in-love-with-anymore fabric to sell, and you can buy someone else's fabric that is just perfect for you.

When:  The first Thursday of every month.  Every. Month.  We start to gather at 6:30 for a little social time, meeting starts at 7:00 and is then followed by a program or activity.

Where:  Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N Green Street, McHenry.
Enter through the door on the north side of the building.  We will be in the first room on your right.  It's won't be hard to find us - we're not a quiet group!

Why:  Because, quilting!

  1. These meetings are so much fun. We are truly a multi-generational group with the oldest member approaching 100 and the youngest still in high school. This is my monthly fix of quilting - only vacation takes me away.
